The One with the standby tickets

I get chance to spent an entire night at Kuching International Airport yesterday. My name got cancelled from the 2050 flight to KUL and I still cant figure out why. Maybe the ticketing staff agrees on the MSS thingy and who knows, saja sabotaj aku? I hope not la.So I arranged the ticket to be on the standby list for all the remaining flight to KUL. Its school holiday and with standby ticket,it is just a perfect recipe to spend many many hours in the airport. All the flight to KUL is full to the brim, even i cant get my ticket upgrade to First Class, mmg penuh tahap dewa! Thinking of asking my dad to pick me up that night tapi anak dier memang ada unsur belas kasihan.;P So i decided to spend the night at the airport so that i can register my name for the new standby list the next day.

Luckily im stuck in the new terminal and not the old one. One thing that bugs me is that the new terminal is so freaking cold! Artic cold that is. The outside temperature is around 25° and the inside is so cold that icicles can form on your hair nose. heheh. Seriously, it is so cold. Nothing much to offer in the new terminal in the wee hours, all shops are close except for one cafe that offers you RM3.50 for once small cup of coffee. Cut throat giler!

One thing i like about this standby ticket is that we get the chance to share the horror experiece with the other passengers who's also on the standby tickets. I met one business-man, one lady doctor and a student from UITM who's heading to Puchong. We get the chance to talk and talk on lots of topics from MAS financial problems, our lives and off coz, bitching the airport for not providing enough seats.:P

Managed to hop into the 1750 flights and safely arrived in KUL around 2030 after 1hr delay. Typical Airbus flight! Onboard,the FA as usual are very friendly and always around when you need something just at the right time. Come to think of it, MAS still has what it takes to be the best airline in the world and I hope that Mr Jala will turn MAS around from the financial crisis. No matter how bad the media and the public bitch about MAS, i still think that MAS is the best airline out there and it is our national pride afterall. :)
