The One with the SW19 Preview

The seedings for Wimbledon was released last night and as expected, both world number 1, Roger Federer and Amelie Mauresmo were both given the #1 seed. Suprisingly, Rafael Nadal, was the no.2 seed, which match his no. 2 ranking in the ATP Tour. Why i was suprise? Coz in determining the seedings, Wimbledon took the players past performances on the surface into consideration and 'the current Spanish delight' career record at Wimbledon is at a modest 3-2. But i'm fine with it though. :) Roddick and Nalbandian complete the top four seed.

No one can doubt Federer's ability to win another Wimbledon title this year. This man is on a winning streak ( 41 straight win ) and this streak started way back in 2002 when he lost to Mario ancic. I can guarantee that there will only be a few pretenders out there that could derail him from winning his eight Grand Slam. Only Hewitt, Nadal, Nalbandian, Ancic and Ljubicic are the big names that could really topple him, but Federer is the clear cut favourite, no doubt about it.

For the ladies, there will be no clear favourite on who will capture the most prestigous Grand Slam. Mauresmo, Clijsters, Henin and Sharapova are the top four seed and the four of them know what it takes to win a Grand Slam. There'll be at least more than 10 names that could pose a major threat to the defending champion, Venus William. None can present a compelling case to be the clear favourite for this years Wimbledon. It all depends on how the draw will come up (release on Friday ) and I'm praying that Sharapova will get a cupcake draw.heheh.

Women-Maria Sharapova

Yeah, one more issue. I have a very low tolerance level when someone start to touch this whole Sarawak/Sabah issue.( depending on the issue la) I read this fellow blogger comment regarding this AF magazine with 6 contestant on it ( 5 from Sabah and 1 from Sarawak ) This is what she said

"Bukan sorang tapi 6 pelajar yang datang dari sabah & serawak. Ramainya? Baru aku sedar, AF di kuasai oleh orang² sana. Patutlah bila tengok diary rasa tengok af indon."

Such comment really piss me off and dare i say that im really sad that this kind of people still exist. When she refer S'kian/Sabahn as orang sane and cakap mcm indon..that really hit my button.

p/s: as a pure Sarawakian,i'm pissed off with such comment! emo nyer...
