The new wing for Kuching International Airport is now open for public since last week. The old wing is currently under renovation and will be completed by next June. This renovation is part of RM620 million redevelopment of Kuching International Airport. It also includes the extension of the runway and later KIA will capable to handle a full load 747-400.wicked!!!
Below are photos:
Cant help to notice that this roof thingy reminds everyone of KLIA..who to blame? KLIA Consultancy?

The check in islands..there are two islands and four rows..but the ceiling seems to low doesnt it? and the lighting doesnt seem to compliment the 'futuristic' design of the check in area..
The new wing overview
The departure lounge
I believe this area will lead you to the tarmac for domestic flights
